Richie is a 3-year-old Chihuahua mix with a tender heart and a story that explains just how special he truly is. His world was turned upside down when his owner was hospitalized with little chance of making it out. With no one left to care for him, Richie was tragically put outside in the cold just days before a winter storm. Despite everything he endured, Richie is still incredibly loving—he just needs to feel safe.
He can be timid at first, but once trust is built, Richie becomes a top-tier snuggle bug who wants nothing more than to be close to his person. He bonds deeply and prefers a calm, predictable environment where he knows he belongs.
Richie would do best as an only dog or with very chill, low-key dogs. He’s a bit of a loner by nature and is happiest soaking up one-on-one attention. He’s good with kids, but his ideal home would be a quiet one with humans who enjoy staying in, relaxing, and sharing lots of couch cuddles.

My adoption fee is $175, which includes my vaccinations, microchip, neuter, heartworm-negative test, and current monthly preventative.
