Meet Mocha - A Diamond in the Rough 💎🐾
Mocha is a resilient girl with a story. Originally rescued from a hoarding situation, she was adopted 4 years ago but has found herself back at SPSPCA, looking for her true forever home.
Mocha was born around 8/1/2020 and this corgi mix is still full of life and personality. While she’s not a huge fan of outdoors, she’s adapted well to using a doggy door - especially with the encouragement of her bigger dog friends. She enjoys the company of dogs over 30 pounds but tends to be too rough with smaller pups.
Mocha has shown some resource guarding behaviors in the past, but she’s made great progress with structured feeding routines (she eats in a closed crate and doesn’t have ownership over any particular bowls). With consistent leadership & patience she’s learning to trust and thrive.
She’s fun, spunky, and affectionate with the right person - but it might take her a little time to open up. Mocha will do best in a calm, adult-only home with people who understand dog behavior and can provide strong, gentle guidance.
Mocha has been through a lot, but still has so much love to give. Please consider giving her the second chance she truly deserves 💕
