Some stories break your heart before they begin.
Willow and her brother were cruelly discarded in a black garbage bag and left on a piece of land to die. Tragically, a farmer unknowingly ran over the bag, and her brother didn’t survive. Willow did. Against all odds, this tiny girl was given a second chance—and she is determined to make every single day count.
Willow is packed full of personality. She’s spunky, sassy, fearless, and has enough energy to keep everyone on their toes. She absolutely adores her foster dog siblings and is always ready to wrestle, play, or convince them that every moment is playtime.
She’s also learning that not everyone shares her enthusiasm. Willow lives with cats and, while she’s definitely been tempted to chase them, she’s discovered after a few well-earned “pow pows” to the nose that they aren’t interested in puppy games. These days, she mostly watches them from a respectful distance, occasionally letting out an excited little bark or cautiously testing whether today might finally be the day they decide to play.
Like any puppy, Willow is still learning the ropes. She’s working on crate training, lets you know when she needs to go potty, and is figuring out boundaries by watching her older foster siblings. She can still be a little nibble monster when she’s excited, but she’s eager to learn and thrives with guidance.
More than anything, Willow is proof that love can outshine an unimaginably difficult beginning. The people who failed her don’t define her. Her joy does. Her resilience does. Her goofy zoomies, wagging tail, and endless affection do.

Willow is available for our Foster to Adopt Program through the rescue. To qualify for this you must live in Lubbock County. If your application is approved, you will pay a $100 non-refundable deposit to take her home. She must be brought back to the rescue for all scheduled vaccinations (you will be given a schedule) and also taken to her spay appointment which will be scheduled by rescue. Once Willow is fully vetted we finalize the adoption and at that time you pay the remaining $100 of the adoption fee. She is not fully vetted so cannot be taken to parks, on walks, or even Petsmart unless carried the entire time and not letting her feet touch the ground. The foster moms have worked hard to keep her safe and well and the rescue trusts the adoptive family to continue keeping her safe.
